Location: Gauteng · System: Patio Ceiling · Bronze

The brief
Bronze warmth overhead, garden all around: this freestanding-feel ceiling pergola shades a seating area away from the main house.
What we built
The insulated panels keep the seating zone comfortable through summer; the bronze finish ties into the landscape rather than fighting it.

Replacing a pergola properly
A timber pergola gives you dappled shade and, eventually, maintenance. Replacing one with an insulated patio ceiling on the existing footprint changes the space fundamentally: it becomes waterproof, insulated against summer heat, and a surface that can carry lighting and fans.
Why bronze
Bronze is our warm finish, and it is the natural choice where a pergola is being replaced on an older or warmer-toned house — face brick, clay tile, stone. It keeps the visual warmth timber provided without inheriting timber's upkeep.
The specification behind it
- Insulated, waterproof patio ceiling in Bronze
- Double-roof rain protection with full all-round guttering
- Multiple downpipe outlets
- Available in Chromadek® (10-year guarantee) or aluminium (15-year)
- Downlights, fans and skylights available
Fitting to what's already there
Building onto an existing footprint is a measuring problem more than a manufacturing one — older slabs are rarely square and brickwork is not always plumb. Because every system is made to your dimensions rather than supplied in stock sizes, awkward existing structures are normal work. We confirm every measurement on site before anything is manufactured.
If you're considering the same
Send a photo of the existing structure along with rough width, projection and height, and tell us whether you want to keep the current footprint or extend it.
