This policy explains what Patio Projex does with personal information collected through this website. It is written to meet our obligations under South Africa’s Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA).
What we collect
We only collect what you choose to send us. Through the quote request form on our contact page, that is:
- Your name, email address and phone or WhatsApp number
- The area you are in, and the system, material, colour and operation you are interested in
- Rough measurements of the space — width, projection and height
- Any photographs you upload of the area to be covered or enclosed
- Anything else you write in the message field
If you phone, WhatsApp or email us instead, we hold whatever you send through that channel.
Our hosting provider also keeps standard technical logs — IP address, browser type, pages requested and time of request — which are used to keep the site running and secure.
What we do not collect
This website sets no cookies, runs no advertising trackers and carries no analytics. We do not build a profile of you, and we do not track you across other websites.
Why we hold it
To prepare and send you a quote, and to answer your enquiry. Under POPIA the lawful basis is that the processing is necessary to take steps at your request before entering into a contract, and that we have a legitimate interest in responding to people who ask us for a price.
We do not use your details for marketing unless you ask us to, and we never sell them.
Who else sees it
Only the people who need to in order to answer you:
- Our team — the person preparing your quote, and the installer who confirms measurements on site if you proceed.
- Cloudflare, which hosts this website and delivers it to your browser.
- Resend, which delivers the quote request from the website to our inbox.
- Fontshare, which serves the typefaces used on this site. Your browser requests those files directly, so Fontshare sees your IP address.
Some of these providers process data outside South Africa. Where that happens, POPIA requires the receiving country or the provider’s own contractual terms to give protection comparable to POPIA, which these providers undertake to do.
We will also disclose information where the law requires it.
How long we keep it
Quote requests are kept for as long as needed to answer you and, if you proceed, for the life of the guarantee on your installation — 15 years on aluminium, 10 on Chromadek® — because the specification and photographs are what let us honour it. Enquiries that do not turn into work are kept for up to three years so that we can pick the conversation back up if you return, and then deleted.
Your rights
Under POPIA you may ask us to:
- Tell you what personal information we hold about you
- Correct anything that is wrong or out of date
- Delete information we no longer have a reason to keep
- Stop using your details for marketing
- Object to our processing on grounds relating to your situation

If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your information, you may complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa at inforegulator.org.za.
Keeping it safe
The site is served over an encrypted connection, and quote requests are transmitted to us over an encrypted channel. Access to enquiries is limited to the people who need it. No system is perfectly secure, but we take the care a business of our size reasonably can.
Children
This site is aimed at homeowners and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has sent us their details, contact us and we will remove them.
Changes
If this policy changes we will update this page. Material changes will be reflected in the date below.
