Estate work is different work
A large share of projects here sit inside estates with architectural guidelines, and that changes the brief. Colour is often prescribed or narrowly bounded, rooflines have to read as part of the house rather than an addition, and there's usually a process before anything gets installed. All our systems are custom-made rather than modular, which is what makes them straightforward to bring in line with a set of guidelines — we build to the dimensions and finish the property requires.
Our four standard finishes — Black, Charcoal, Bronze and Traffic White — cover most estate palettes, and frames and infills can be specified in different colours where a guideline calls for a particular combination.
- Adjustable louvres — the flexible option where a solid roof would darken interiors behind the patio
- Insulated patio ceilings — a clean, finished soffit rather than exposed sheeting
- Fixed IBR carports — a properly built alternative to shade netting, with the same gutter system as our awnings
- Stack folding doors — 2 to 7 panels, for turning a covered patio into a closed room
Practical points for estate homes
Double-storey homes are common here, which usually means deciding where water goes before deciding what the roof looks like. Our systems take multiple downpipe outlets, so guttering can be routed to suit existing stormwater rather than the shortest path. Where a patio sits deep under an upper floor, an insulated ceiling with recessed downlights or skylights keeps the space from going gloomy.
Getting a Fourways or Dainfern quote
Photograph the area, note rough width, projection and height, and tell us if there are estate guidelines to work to. We'll quote on material, colour and operation, and confirm everything on site before manufacture. Aluminium carries a 15-year guarantee; Chromadek® carries 10.
