Why enclosures do so well here
Midrand's newer developments are built for indoor-outdoor flow — living areas that open straight onto a patio, often with the patio already roofed. The obvious next move is to enclose it, and that's where stack folding doors earn their keep: 2 to 7 panels that fold and stack to one side, so the wall genuinely disappears in summer and seals against shatterproof glass in winter.
Frosted glass is worth mentioning specifically. On the tighter plots common in newer estates, a neighbour's window can sit close enough that a fully glazed enclosure feels exposed. Frosted panels keep the daylight and lose the sightline — the same system, a different infill.

Exposure and wind
Plenty of Midrand plots are open and north-facing with little mature planting, which means both more sun on the glass and more wind across the patio. Double glazing is worth costing on an enclosure that catches afternoon sun; for exposed openings, our severe-wind-rated multi-slider is the sturdier specification. All glass in our doors and windows is shatterproof as standard.
